Tropical Storm Zeta - Shell Manufacturing Gulf Coast Update #2
October 27, 2020 1:00 PM CST
Shell Manufacturing Gulf Coast
(ISSUED at 1:00 PM CST) Shell manufacturing facilities along the Louisiana and Alabama coasts, plan to continue operating during Tropical Storm Zeta. These manufacturing facilities are located in Convent, Geismar and Norco, Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama.
We continue to follow a multi-phase plan to protect people and ensure equipment reliability. The plan is premised on the projected path and severity of the storm and can be adjusted to fit changing weather conditions.
Shell’s facilities have a workforce on duty at all times that can operate and maintain a facility safely or, if necessary, shut down the units in a safe, controlled manner.
Our top priority is to protect people, assets, nearby communities and the environment. If conditions lead to an evacuation due to a shift in Tropical Storm Zeta’s forecasted track, we are prepared to carry out plans in a safe and orderly way.
